Clients of Teras may also be involved in outpatient treatment while they develop a foundation in their recovery work, and apply to work positions. After 30 days, clients are expected to be employed while they continue progress in their recovery work. They continue to meet with their case manager weekly and participate in community support activities. Teras, also located in Lexington MA, offers a less structured, but still supportive model of high standards sober living. That study found that freestanding SLH’s offer enough structure, with no formal treatment, creating an optimal environment for residents ready for the next step.
Not all sober living homes are the same and in fact beyond the differences in “amenities”, there are many other important factors to consider. Teras is located two miles away from Tharros (both Tharros and Teras are in Lexington MA). This less structured residence is designed to support clients when they have 25+ hours of work or other outside structure weekly, which can be developed with assistance from our team, in the first 30 days. After spending much of his career in retail where he managed for Mobil, Circle K and Home Depot, Nick joined the Tharros Team in February of 2018, making the decision to follow his passion of helping men in recovery. Nick is actively engaged in coursework at Middlesex Community College in the Addiction Counseling Program where he is studying to take the state LADC exam. Nick is also actively working on training to be a Certified Recovery Coach.
At Tharros House, we want to help you achieve your life goals and long-term sobriety with the tools and foundation you’ve already acquired. Leaving a residential, inpatient, or outpatient treatment environment is often more challenging than expected. You’ve changed, but the people, places, and things around you haven’t.
Our community offers extensive structure, much of which is optional. At Tharros, we offer semi-private to fully private ensuite accommodation. Tharros House is a private peer program which is not affiliated with any state or federal offerings. Testimonials are available on our site, and we are happy to connect you with families and past clients who can share their experience with you. We take privacy seriously, and client information is not shared with any outside sources, except those affiliated with treatment, or which the client otherwise requests. Monthly fees at Tharros include food for all meals and snacks, transportation by our team in commercially insured SUVs, all activities, Tharros groups, and peer mentoring support.
The ability to spend 6 months to a year in a supportive environment allows you to learn more about yourself and your addiction. Our support program will afford you support while you mend relationships with family and friends. With 24/7 management and support, we can help you find an appropriate job, connect with the recovery community through volunteer opportunities and activities, find the right treatment resources, and build a foundation in sobriety. Tharros House, located steps away from the center of Lexington, spans 4 levels with almost 8000 square feet of living space. All client guest rooms at Tharros are equipped with queen sized Serta Presidential Euro-top premium mattresses and high thread count linens.
Tharros offers an extensive and flexible peer support program to helps clients navigate important changes and decisions. Our team provides support to ongoing clinical work as part of that process. Darren originally joined the Tharros House team in 2015 after spending 2 years working in the Los Angeles recovery community.
We help you see, what it is about you, you may have a hard time seeing. You are more likely to maintain long-term sobriety by entering and committing to a structured transitional living environment, like Tharros House. That’s why we encourage our clients to consider staying 6 months to one year.
Since 1991, she has immersed herself offering vocational assistance to recovering people. At Tharros, Donna coaches clients to develop a personal “tool kit” of useful language, ideals, and methods to insure a smooth transition into the “real world”. Melissa provides Tharros House with evidence-based intervention strategies, including empirically supported practices for substance use disorder (SUD). More specifically, she offers didactic training and psychoeducation among the Tharros Team Members. She has hosted field experts in motivational interviewing (MI) to provide team member training and continuously seeks ways to provide education and support among the Tharros House team.
